A double head cutting machine has two saw heads on a common bed — one fixed, one moving. The moving head is set to the required length, and both ends of the profile are cut in the same cycle.
On a single head machine, each end is cut separately and the length is measured by the operator. A double head machine removes that second cut and the re-measuring, which is why it is chosen by workshops where cutting has become the bottleneck.

How a Double Head Machine Cuts a Profile

Set the length
The moving head travels along the bed to the required profile length, measured from the fixed head.

Load and clamp
The profile is placed across both heads and clamped on each side so it cannot shift during the cut.

Cut both ends
Both saw heads cut at their set angle — typically 45° for mitre corners or 90° for straight members — in the same cycle.

Unload and repeat
The finished piece comes off at the exact length. For batches, the length stays set and the next profile is loaded.
